From time to time we celebrate a special Puja to open a new building or to start a new project with this religious ceremony in Buddhist or Hindu style. Pujas are also held to give our thanks to the gods or to ask for their help and blessing. These ceremonies are also important to bring workers and management together and to create the feeling of being part of a team.
In our farm at Dikkapitia we also offer students training programmes in organic agriculture, nature protection, reforesting and animal farming according to the animals' needs.
Together with the university and the agriculture department, we are replanting original types of seeds to protect the variety of agricultural plants, especially spices. For example, 18 different kinds of pepper were planted on the estate.
